During my undergraduate studies at Kent State University in Art History a focus was Latin American art. Of course drawn to the bright colors and fancy wardrobes the artistic pair Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera were amongst my favorites. While none lived during my lifetime their legacy did and through museums and film live on for the coming generations.

I was excited to see that Diego Rivera’s collection of Frida’s clothing that he locked up is finally being released to a museum for display. Sadly, this museum is in Mexico City but I hope sometime the garments may go on “tour” and include the USA. Frida’s clothing are truly a splendor of color and design whether in feminine or masculine form.
